Editio turns a music corpus into an edition on the web: a song cycle, a collection of chorales, a songbook or the works of a composer. You upload your scores in MEI or MusicXML, add recordings, the manuscripts, introductions and texts if you wish, and Editio builds a website with every work, each with its interactive score, ready to share.
- Synchronized audio. With a real recording, the viewer marks note by note what is sounding, following every tempo freedom of the performer. Without a recording, it synthesizes the score itself.
- Facsimile. The source is shown beside the score, page by page. When the MEI is linked to the images, what is sounding also lights up on the manuscript.
- Open formats. Scores are published in MEI, the format of scholarly music editions, and anyone can download them from the site.
- No server. The edition is a folder of static files: the page, the scores, the audio and the images. It depends on no database or server software, so it can be kept and archived alongside the research. An edition is published once and never expires.
